| Back when my babies were really small and I was "loosing it" mentally because I had very little time to be creative, I was desperate to find a way. My husband took me to a psychedelic trance party in Toronto, and I saw UV paintings for the first time. I've seen cheezy posters before, but the paintings had a beautiful depth to them. The best part was that I could paint in the dark when the bambinos were asleep, and float away into my refuge for a while. The first thing I ever painted with UV pigments was a wedding dress. I bought one cheap at Value Village and made myself some sexy party-wear which I wore with black and white striped tights. After that, I made the Fire Fae painting and fell in love with UV painting! I've been loving drawing since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I can't imagine myself doing anything else. |
